Summer's Over...

In the classic 1972 western, The Cowboys, John Wayne looked up at the boys gathered around him and said, "Summer's over, boys...," as he took his last breath.  Well, I'm not dying but the summer of 2014 is indeed over.

It's been a while - like more than a year - since I updated this blog and I'm wondering why!  I read back through some of my old posts - and they're really pretty good.  You should read them and I should write more.

I've traveled a bit this last year and I've taken a few photos along the way.  Here's a quick review:

I went to a Clemson football game.
I went to Hawaii.
I went hog hunting.
I went snow skiing - twice.
I bought a Yeti cooler.
I was inducted into the Thomas Green Clemson Academy of Engineers and Scientists at Clemson University.
I went to Charleston, South Carolina - twice.
I went to Utah to hike with my son - again.
And, I went to Idaho and Wyoming - with a side trip to Glacier National Park in Montana.

And now for a few of my favorite photos from along the way:

Sunset in Teton Valley, Idaho

A storm blew through Teton Valley just before sunset.  I drove north toward Tetonia unable to see the mountains but hoping that the clouds would clear out in time for a shot.  My luck was good, especially when the full moon popped out from behind the clouds too!

Whew!  That was a lot of travel and a lot of photos.  In fact, I took about 11,000 photos in the last year.  That's certainly not as many as I used to shoot when I was shooting lots of sports and portraits - but it was enough to get some good ones.  Click on any one of the photos and it will take you to the gallery on my website where you can find more just like it.   I hope you enjoy them.
